Internal Family Systems Therapy
You Are More Than the Sum of Your Parts
Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy is a powerfully transformative, evidence-based model of psychotherapy. It posits that the mind is divided into many “parts,” each trying to achieve something positive.
IFS is strengths-focused, based on the idea that your core self is not “broken.” IFS “parts work” aims to connect to each of your parts, discover their needs, and create a harmonious system of the self.
Integration with Self Cycle:
Self Cycle invites participants to attune to their individual parts, observing how different aspects respond to language, sound, and movement. Journaling serves as a tool to integrate insights that may have emerged during the aerobic exercise, creating a seamless transition to a 75-minute group session. During this session, participants can speak with compassion to their own parts and engage in a supportive dialogue with others.
Marcia's approach combines cycling with mental health modalities, rooted in the belief that aerobic exercise and bilateral stimulation act as illuminating "trailheads" into mental processing. These points are then further explored during the reflective segments of the workshop.
